"Working with Mr. Kiann was a pleasure in many ways: first of all because of his very inspiring repertoire! His music and choreographies soon made a deep impression on me not only because of the beautiful movements but also because of the strong content behind all his ballets! As the aim of rehearsing was not only to create nice lines and shapes but also to approach the meaning behind all steps! Hearing stories of Iran and Mr. Kiann’s intentions to change political grievances to the better through art/ dance, affected everybody in a very positive way! His very open mind to all nations, cultures and religions made us all try our best for his themes, - which then also became important to us! Besides, I have never met somebody in ballet world who is able to create such a constructive, positive working atmosphere like Mr. Kiann from beginning to the very end. Personally I appreciated a lot that he gave the possibility to everybody for attempts and mistakes, which in my opinion only allows improvement. Seeing also my colleagues working very hard and being able to do things they couldn't do before made a lasting impression on me." |
