The absence of Iranian ballet as a cultural heritage, and a burning passion for its recreation inspired me many years ago to summon up all my energy and resources to give life to the neglected Iranian art of Persian ballet.
In search for the roots of Persian dance, in one of the world’s
oldest civilizations, I was lead to the origin of the cult of Mithra and the
ritual dance of our ancestors, to an era as far back as four thousand
years.
The foundation of this cultural institution has not only revived an Iranian
cultural heritage, it is also regarded as an important integration project in
Sweden. It was with great honor that I watched the realization of this artistic
endeavor; create a delightful rainbow of participants from 22 different
countries. The organization has established a multicultural and close
collaboration between artists of different origins in Sweden.
Les Ballets Persans is dedicated to the art and the culture of my
native country, and to the new generation of Iranians in their Diaspora. It is
intended to function as an element of integration for Iranians, using the
universal language of dance to celebrate this ancient and rich culture, and
promoting a genuine dialogue between cultures and civilizations.
Thus the organization intends to celebrate diversity, and to counteract
segregation by contributing to a meaningful and important artistic production in
a globalized sense.
The Association of the Friends of Les Ballets Persans invites you to participate in our endeavors. Your support will help us achieve the quality and excellence that is our goal.
We would like to offer you a unique possibility to connect with the Iranian culture and to witness the work of many Iranian musicians and artists. It is our aspiration to be accompanied and supported by the wide public that we are addressing, without whom we cannot achieve our ambitious objectives.
In order to thank you for supporting the Company, the association provides its members with privileged contact with the artists, priority in ticket reservation, ticket discounts, access to public rehearsals, lectures, meetings with the dancers, choreographers, musicians, librettists and important people from the world of dance.
We hope very much that you will join us in this circle of friendship, which aims to invigorate and strengthen the ties of co-operation and understanding between us.
